El primer párrafo suena convincente: “I don’t mean to sound nostalgic for the Cold War, but we’ve got to stop conducting ourselves as if nobody is looking.” Y así continúa con los problemas que acosan a los EE.UU., lo que mientras tanto está haciendo China, y el mea culpa, claro, porque “mientras más tardemos en hacer lo que debemos hacer, China gana”. Y así todo termina sonando como una nueva confrontación Cold-War Style! Take your seats!

Spend big! dijeron en la Casa Blanca y se lo tomaron muy en serio… Para hacer unas nuevas fotos del Air Force 1 en NYC gastaron 328.835 dólares en una sesión que llevó al AFO a la Gran Manzana escoltado por dos aviones caza sin el Presidente adentro.

Esto fue el 27 de Abril y el vuelo bajo del avión asustó a muchos.

En The Huffington Post cuentan cómo podrían haber hecho la muy patriótica toma del AFO con la Estatua de la Libertad de fondo por sólo 6 dólares.

MSNBC has reported that on their first day on the job, Obama’s White House staffers suffered from downgrades on every front. During the campaign and the transition, Obama’s team was a Mac shop; they arrived in the White House to find six-year-old Windows PCs and a mess of disconnected land-line phones. (Windows! The horror!)

Not only that — staffers were forbidden from accessing outside email accounts or chatting online, too. MSNBC quotes one Obama spokesperson as characterizing the transition as “kind of like going from an Xbox to an Atari.” Bummer.
